New Home for Collins Media Advertising

It’s official, Collins Media Advertising has secured a new home! Converting an old warehouse in central Ballarat, a modern New York Style open plan studio has been created. Over 200sqm of space will see the installation of edit pods, a director’s lounge, open plan design studio and more. Polished brick walls, polished concrete and iron girders make this a fantastic location, allowing for the ever-increasing growth of the company. Located in an alley, just off Doveton St North in the city, this new space also has room for a white / green screen production area for TVC and photography shoots. This move will also see David Brown, formally of Brown Ink productions fame join the creative team. Drop us a line and check out our new space. We have a killer latte machine too! Peace out.
2 NEW STAFF APPOINTED

Collins Media Advertising today welcomes it’s newest additions to the team, Jacob and Jeremy. Both will join as graphic designers working on an array of clients. We’re slightly spooked as now we have Jade, Jeremy and Jacob… Triple J’s.. must be a creative thing?! The two new additions will help our agency manage the growing demand for design and illustration work. Welcome aboard fellas.
Music video goes to number 1

Collins Media Advertising recently produced the ‘career best’ music video for country star Tania Kernaghan and this week the hit song has gone to number 1 in the Country music charts! Well done to everybody involved, including our director Brett Anderson and of course, Tania who couldn’t deserve it more!

It’s confirmed! The team at Collins Media Advertising are proud to announce that we today won the tender for a round the world trip, to 10 locations shooting up tp 20 ads! Due to the overwhelming success of our University of Ballarat’s London campaign, the University has signed off on the global concept idea and invited companies to tender. The ads will show past students who are now working internationally. Titled ‘Where will UB?” the campaign will launch in July on air and carry through the remainder of the year. The previous London campaign received high acclaim nationally and has been nominated for several industry awards, so it seems fitting that the University take it the next step. Collins Media Advertising won the tender against tough national competition.

Jade will take the role of creative director, working on TV concept and development, plus areas of weekly print management. Jade is a highly creative individual who is from a commercial photographic background. She’s a gun designer and has a super personality. New Hyundai Elantra Ad heads our way!

Great news for our agency today as Hyundai Australia confirm Collins Media Advertising will again be appointed to produce the new commercial for it’s Elantra vehicle. The commercial is to be shot locally on the latest High Def gear on location and in studio. Riding on the success of the last national ad made for the Accent, Managing Director Walt Collins explains “It’s great to see repeat business on such a high level for our agency. The team are raring to go on this one”.
CM Produces video clips for Tania Kernaghan

Country singing star Tania Kernaghan and Collins Media Advertising have today announced an exciting venture. CM will produce the new music video for the track ‘Life dont get much better than this’ taken from her new album ‘Higher Ground’. To be aired internationally, the clip will be shot on location in regional Victoria. Also in discussion is the music video for the popular song ‘30 something’ from the same album. “It’s very exciting, another feather in our cap and another win for regional Victoria’s film industry” says Walt Collins.
Lifestyle channel hires Collins Media

Foxtel’s LifeStlye Channel and Freehand TV in Sydney have hired Collins Media Advertising to produce segments of a new show called the Great BBQ Challenge. Shot on location in Ballarat, Collins Media will produce the audition segments for the show. “Yet another chance to get our teeth into even more broadcast television. A great opportunity to hire local crews and showcase local talent” explains Walt Collins.
University of Ballarat sends CM to LONDON!

The University of Ballarat today confirmed it’s trust in Collins Media by sending the team to LONDON to shoot a series of new TV commercials about post graduate success stories. This compliments another 7 TV commercials to be produced for a forthcoming campaign. The ads will feature post grads and go to air across VIC and in cinemas. It’s a great win for Collins Media, beating off stiff competition in the region for the Uni account. WATCH
Victoria Festival of Motion Image a Success!

Peter Stevens Group chooses Collins Media as agency

Major car dealer Peter Stevens Motorworld has today signed a deal with Collins Media to have the agency pick up the advertising account. It’s an enormous contract for Collins Media, in fact the biggest to date. Peter Stevens Motorworld is the umbrella for Nissan, Hyundai, Jeep, Chrysler, Saab and PSM Machinery, plus a significant pre-owned vehicle dealer site. Collins Media will produce all press, radio and television campaigns for the company. “Peter Stevens Group is now our biggest client and we’re just delighted to welcome them on board. Tottie Goldsmith stars in new Hyundai commercial

Collins Media is pleased to welcome the Peter Stevens Motor Group to our client base. We have been awarded the contract to produce a new 15 sec TVC for Hyundai. The ad will feature Tottie Goldsmith promoting the new extras available on the Elantra 2 litre vehicle. The add will air across the state of Victoria. Creative, scripting, production and effects all done by Collins Media.
High Definition Edit Suite Opens for business

Collins Media today completed the upgrade of Edit Suite1 to High Definition. New software, drivers, decks and uplinks were installed, enabling us to work end to end with native HD. This new upgrade makes Collins Media one of the few companies in regional Victoria that can now offer HD production.

Tattersall’s Award Collins Media TVC Contract

Tattersall’s has awarded one of it’s first contracts to produce a television commercial, outside of it’s normal advertising agency, to Collins Media. The touching 60 sec TVC is set to hit TV screens as soon as early May this year, with the copy, production, pre prod and media buying all being coordinated through Collins Media.
Ballarat Film Festival bursts into national spotlight!

Collins Media and Yum Production staged one of the most spectacular media launches as they shot the new TVC for the Ballarat Film Festival. The main street of the city was closed for much of the day as a high speed car and motor bike chase crashed through a wall of cardboard boxes, announcing the 4 week countdown to the festival. The stunt formed the basis of the TVC and has hit the headlines nationally for it’s scale. Walt Collins and Erin Mc Cuskey are very happy with the result.

Over the recent weeks, Collins Media has been running a TVC campaign on WIN Television across Western Victoria. The ad campaign is the first of a series of 3 commercials that will go to air announcing our arrival in Ballarat. We’ve had an influx of calls from business and welcomed aboard a list of new clients. Look out for our second ad in a week or two. Also today, Collins Media has awarded its business start up pack prize to help small businesses in Western Victoria get noticed. The winner is PAILS FOR SCALES, Australia’s largest breeder of reptiles. Pails for Scales will receive a free website, free design of all stationary, a 15 second TV commercial (airtime not included) and on going marketing support. Collins Media has also chosen this year’s charity donation support scheme; DREAM Inc will receive the complete advertising package to help raise much needed support. Collins Media Awarded Global TV show contract

Collins Media has won the contract to produce an international reality TV series. Over 27 countries are involved in Global Kisses, an international Bachelor / Bachelorette event. Hosted by Walter Collins, the show will travel across the world, showing the tears, the laughter, the bitching and the drama as this global hunt for the world’s most compatible couple takes place. Using revolutionary technology, the crew will shoot, edit and broadcast from the location, with a spectacular 45 minute grand finale from a castle in Germany! The contract has attracted media interest (see below) in both Australia and overseas.
